During my residency in Montreal with Galerie B-312, I developed a collaborative project with Canadian sound artist Magali Babin: a guided multisensory walk along the Rivière des Prairies, as part of the project Île, fleuve, rivière. Montréal insulaire, curated by Joannie Boulais and Marthe Carrier.
The walk begins with the distribution of mindfulness walking workbooks, which we designed and produced specifically for the participants. The workbook proposes eight verbs to be experienced individually or collectively: Arrive, Listen, Collect, Handle, Locate, Sense, Inhabit, and Leave.
As the walk unfolds, the workbook gradually fills with drawings, texts, diagrams, plant matter, and other traces gathered along the way.
