“ Finding a habitat ”

Questioning the notion of dwelling.
A workshop inspired by the project Dans ma tête pousse une forêt / A Forest Grows in My Head.
What happens when we change scale? By imagining ourselves the size of a mouse, our perception shifts and nature becomes even more extraordinary. Trees, plants, soil, and the lake become territories to explore. Through this change in perspective, the workshop invites participants to reflect on how we inhabit the world and on the place of the human figure within the vegetal landscape.
The workshop begins with a discussion about our relationship with nature as living beings. At the gallery, each participant then imagines a character, which they draw, colour, cut out, and attach to a stick. We then head to La Fontaine Park to find one or more habitats for the character, among the trees, plants, lake, and soil.
The experience ends with a photograph of the character in its new habitat. Some even preferred to stay there…
