Hundreds of open boxes revealed moulded white chocolate hands — casts of the actual hands of the women who have worked there for 20 or 30 years — each pair holding the pastry they specialise in. Every pair of hands was unique.
A copper bracelet engraved with each woman’s name accompanied the installation. For the founder, an edible pendant: her portrait rendered in sugar and worn as a piece of jewellery.
Honouring the everyday gesture, care, and invisible expertise.
Consuming the portrait as an act of celebration.
